Often, it’s not the big things but the little things that make a person an Extra Miler. Those small acts add up and make a big difference, and that’s exactly what sets Carson Kinser, a truck driver from our Bloomington store, apart.

In his short time with Bender Lumber, Carson has built quite a reputation for lending a hand and going above and beyond every single day.

A great example of this was a recent delivery with no specific instructions as to where to drop the load. Carson, as is normal, called the client to get clarification of where to leave the materials and after a quick “thank you,” went about his business.

Pretty standard, right? But when Carson arrived, he discovered the spot was already filled with materials from another supplier. Instead of just dropping the load somewhere else, he noticed where the previous materials should have been placed and took it upon himself to move them, making things right before carefully delivering Bender Lumber’s order exactly where the customer wanted it.

That kind of initiative and care perfectly captures what it means to go the extra mile. I have a feeling this will not be Carson’s last Extra Mile award. Congratulations on the job well done.
